Comprehensive MRO Training and Certification
This is a comprehensive overview of the role and responsibilities of the
Medical Review Officer in workplace drug testing programs. The course
includes detailed coverage of urine collections, laboratory testing,
alternative medical explanations for laboratory-confirmed drug test results,
alcohol testing, substance abuse professional evaluations, technical and
legal considerations and issues involved in the MRO process, and guidance
and risk management practices.

This instruction provides the qualification training required by the U.S.
Department of Transportation and preparation for the AAMRO MRO certification
examination.
AAMRO certification is recognized as an objective standard of competency
and expertise for Medical Review Officers. Candidates certified through
AAMRO receive a diploma and are listed in the online searchable Registry
of Certified Medical Review Officers, a national industry guide of MROs
and their related services.

CME Credits - This program is accepted for 21.75 prescribed credit hours
by the Amerciian Academy of Family Physicians.
Collector Training for MROs (4 hours): OPTIONAL
This program provides MROs guidance and training in the procedures required by Department of Transportation (DOT) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulated urine specimen collections.
Learning Objectives:
- Knowledge about Part 40 collection procedures.
- All the steps necessary to conduct a proper collection.
- How to properly fill out a federal collection form (Custody and Control Form, or CCF).
- How to handle problem collections (shy bladder, attempts to tamper with the test, etc.)
- Information about fatal and correctable flaws in collections and collection paperwork.
- The collector's responsibility for maintaining the integrity and credibility of the collection process, privacy, and specimen security.
- After the training program, the collector-to-be must then complete five consecutive error-free mock collections under the direct observation of a leading trainer in the field.
