Two Options for Taking the Recertification Exam

Effective October 01, 2010 the Department of Transportation requires all certified MROs to maintain their certification and "re-qualify" (i.e. recertify) every five years. To re-qualify an MRO must attend a comprehensive MRO training program and pass the requalification exam.

ONSITE

• The exam is closed-book and proctored.
• The exam is a two-hour timed examination.
• Results are provided two to three weeks after the exam date.
• Two retests permitted (after a failed exam) within a 12 month time frame onsite or online

ONLINE

AAMRO provides an opportunity for physicians to take the Recertification examination online using any computer & high-speed Internet connection.

You may register for this exam after you have taken a Comprehensive MRO Training Course.

• The exam must be taken within 12 months of the training course.
• The exam is open-book. You may save your work and return to it as often as needed in order to complete the exam in the allotted time.
• The exam is taken on your own computer with an Internet connection.
• The exam is a 30-day examination.
• Results are provided immediately at the end of the exam, you will be able to review any questions you answered incorrectly.
• The exam can be taken and saved so you can log on and off within the 30 day period.
• Two retests permitted (after a failed exam) within a 12 month time frame onsite or online
• Full payment is required to take the exam a 3^rd time.

The online exam provides an immediate Pass or Fail determination. A detailed breakdown of test results by each question is provided immediately so you can review any questions that you answered incorrectly.
