Basic Comprehensive MRO Training and Certification

 

*Required for all new MRO candidates certifying through AAMRO*

This instruction provides the qualification training required by the U.S. Department of Transportaion and preparation for the AAMRO MRO certifcation examination. 

 

Course Content

 

This training is an overview of the role and responsibilites of the Medical Review Officer in workplace drug testing programs.  The couse includes detailed coverage of:

  • Specimen collection procedures
  • MRO Practices and procedures 
  • Laboratory testing
  • Alternative medical explanations for laboratory-confirmed drug test results 
  • Alcohol testing
  • Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations
  • Technical and legal considerations involved in the MRO process
  • Guidance and risk management practices
  • Designer Drugs 

 

CME Credits - This program is accepted for 21.75 prescribed credit hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Board of Preventive Medicine.

7:30 am — Registration and continental breakfast
8:00 am – 5:00 pm — AAMRO Program
 
Day Two —
7:30 am - Continental breakfast
8:00 am – 5:00 pm — AAMRO Program
 
Day Three —
7:30 am - Continental breakfast 
8:00 am – 12:00 pm — AAMRO Program
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm — AAMRO Examination
