This instruction provides the qualification training required by the U.S. Department of Transporation and preparation for the AAMRO re-certification examination.
Course Highlights
This advanced course provides Certified Medical Review Officers (MROs) with key updates and practical knowledge in:

Advanced testing methods including hair, oral fluid, and specimen collection

Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations and return-to-duty processes

Legal, technical, and risk management considerations in drug testing

Certification
AAMRO Certification is recognized as a national standard of competency for Medical Review Officers. Successful candidates receive a diploma and are listed in the searchable online Registry of Certified MROs.
Who Should Attend?
This Advanced course is intended only for currently certified MROs, providing a focused update on evolving practices. In contrast, the Basic Comprehensive MRO Training is designed for physicians new to MRO duties and lasts 2.5 days.
CME Credits
This program offers 14 prescribed credit hours, approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM).
Advanced Comprehensive Medical Review Officer Training vs. Basic Comprehensive Medical Review Officer Training. What's the difference?
- The Advanced Comprehensive Medical Review Officer Training course is ONLY for current certified MROs, whereas the Basic Comprehensive MRO Training course is designed to prepare and certify physicians that are NEW to the duties of an MRO.
- The Advanced Comprehensive program is 1.5 days in length vs a longer 2.5-day program for Comprehensive MRO Training.
CME Credits - This program is accepted for for 14 prescribed credit hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Board of Preventive Medicine.
